BRAND STORY
The TAKENAKA journey began in 1925, in Yamanaka, Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture. The coating techniques cultivated in this region, the hub of Yamanaka lacquerware, are still carefully applied by the hands of our artisans, a century later.
The skill of bringing out the beauty of the wood grain and creating a smooth finish is a treasure that has been passed down through generations. It’s more than just technique; it’s the very heart of our desire to enrich people’s lives.
As times change and lifestyles diversify, our techniques have also continued to evolve. In addition to our TAKENAKA brand, which uses urethane coating on synthetic resin to produce modern lacquerware, we launched the tak brand to offer fresh, new dining experiences—all driven by our desire to be a part of changing lifestyles.
As we reach our 100th anniversary, we maintain the same passion that has guided us from the beginning and will continue to do so as we move forward, namely, to make every day more beautiful and more enjoyable than the last. With that desire in our hearts, we look forward to continuing our journey for the next 100 years.
